On Sunday March 25 at 11:45 am, we received a call from Joe Patsco, Theater Operations for Madison Square Garden. The Beacon Theater had a roof top expansion tank failure earlier in the morning and it had flooded the building. The Theater had the Allman Brothers Band scheduled to perform that evening and nothing could prevent that from happening, so they called Maxons to save the show.
Our crew arrived at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon. Once we walked the site with the manager, we agreed on a plan to extract the standing water and clean up all the fallen ceiling tiles and debris by 6:00 pm. We also planned to return after the evening show to begin drying the building. Monday at 1:00 am the crew came back to set up 15 dehumidifiers and 25 fans to start drying out the structure. We monitored the site and equipment over the next several days, we were able to dry the space, giving them time to make repairs and open for the next scheduled show.
