Meeting Maxons!

Meetign Maxons

Our Blog series, “Meeting Maxons!” continues this week. We will hear from Pamela, our Accounts Payable Coordinator, about her experiences at Maxons.

Q:  How long have you been with Maxons?

A:  8 years, 9 years in September.

Q:  Do you remember what your impressions were of the company after being here for about a month?

A:  I was nervous – it was challenging – I wasn’t sure what to expect and I stayed quiet.  Now that I am settled I am not so quiet!

Q:  What was the first thing you had to learn when joining the team?

A:  The restoration business, so I could understand invoices and what I was paying for!  Even though I am on payables, I still had to understand what I was seeing.

Q:  What is the most important thing you have learned since you have been here?

A:  Understanding.

Q:  Why do you have a passion for this industry?

A:  I really have a passion for the people I work with, and what we all do together.

Q:  Which company core value speaks to you the most – and why?

A:  Teamwork – because everything we do has a support system and we can count on each other.  Even different departments work well together!  We problem solve together in every way possible, (including how to get a new beach ball for our company outing)!

Q:  What is your favorite Maxons story?

A:  I think because it is so fresh in my mind – listening to people speaking at Bob’s retirement party – what he meant to all of us.  It is sad because he is leaving, but it was such a joyous celebration and it meant a lot to him and to us.

Meeting Maxons!

Meetign Maxons

Our Blog series, “Meeting Maxons!” continues this week. We will hear from Anna, our Executive Assistant to the CEO, about her experiences at Maxons.

Q:  How long have you been with Maxons?

A:  10 years!

Q:  Do you remember what your impressions were of the company after being here for about a month?

A:  The first week I was here, I remember everyone was working really hard, everyone was very focused and serious.  Then, we also had a Halloween party that same week and I got to see everyone have fun and enjoy being together.  It was a good balance – seeing how hard we work and how much fun we have.

Q:  What was the first thing you had to learn when joining the team?

A:  Answering the phones, and we had a paging system then – so we were able to page people to pick up calls which was fun.  Then I had to jump in learning intakes and our database, and that part was harder as it needed concentration to not get customer details wrong.

Q:  What is the most important thing you have learned since you have been here?

A:  That we care.  We can’t teach someone how to care, but we all do, both about what we do professionally and each other.  So much of what we do is about caring for our customers, making sure we help them, to do that we have to care about each other.  All of us have this trait, genuinely.

Q:  Why do you have a passion for this industry?

A:  We are helping people.

Q:  Which company core value speaks to you the most – and why?

A:  Teamwork  – we are in it to win it!  We all depend on each other to move things forward and we are always chipping in.  No one can say “it’s not my job,” we just all help each other succeed.

Q:  What is your favorite Maxons story?

A:  I work in the office day to day.  But during Super Storm Sandy I ended up helping out a Project Manager out in the field and I learned so much about what we do!  How our Project Managers lead and guide crews, customers, and clients.  They are working in conditions where it isn’t always dry, or smells good – so it made me appreciate them all so much more.
