Our Blog series, “Meeting Maxons!” continues this week. We will hear from Kathy, a Sales Coordinator and Account Manager, about her experiences at Maxons.

Q:  How long been with Maxons?

A:  8.5 years.

 

Q:  Do you remember what your impressions were of the company after being here for about a month?

A:  Amazing!  I loved the culture – there was a lot going on, lots of events and different things happening.  We were busy.  I was really impressed how much got done.

 

Q:  What was the first thing you had to learn when joining the team?

A:  That planning and communication is very important within the team.

 

Q:  What is the most important thing you have learned since you have been here?

A:  Consistency, we always need to be doing follow up and follow through.

 

Q:  Why do you have a passion for this industry?

A:  Because we help people at their worst.

 

Q:  Which company core value speaks to you the most – and why?

A:  Optimism because it is very easy to become negative and dwell.  If we all did that everything would go downhill.  It is easier to commit to the rest of our values when you are positive and optimistic.

 

Q:  What is your favorite Maxons story?

A:  At one of our company outings we had some music playing while we were hanging out by a pool.  “Single Ladies” came on the radio and two of our Project Managers got up and did the whole single ladies dance – not only in front of us, but the other guests at the hotel!  We have a lot of fun, and it still makes us crack up!

Our Blog series, “Meeting Maxons!” continues this week. We will hear from Lou, a Senior Director of Client Services, about her experiences at Maxons.

Q:  How long been with Maxons?

A:  17 years

 

Q:  Do you remember what your impressions were of the company after being here for about a month?

A:  It was a highly recommended opportunity for me.  It turned out to be everything that I believed it would be and everything I was looking for.

 

Q:  What was the first thing you had to learn when joining the team?

A:  Being a little bit more independent.  My previous role required me to call my boss twice a day on my activity – and at that time, I had to go to payphones to do this!  I had to learn I didn’t need to call Damon and tell him my progress and success throughout the day.  Learning that kind of independence was a great experience!

 

Q:  What is the most important thing you have learned since you have been here?

A:  Learning how to listen, working well with others, helping others, being a resource and a friend to my clients.  That led me to developing relationships beyond my wildest dreams with clients and colleagues that I never thought I could do through my career.  And seeing the trust that has developed between myself with people in the industry.

 

Q:  Why do you have a passion for this industry?

A:  I love helping people!  Love to get the phone to ring from the relationships I have developed, and then be able to do the work and make the end user happy.  It is so much fun and it is rewarding everyday.

 

Q:  Which company core value speaks to you the most – and why?

A:   Sincerity.  Our word is our bond!  People have been listening to me for a long time, and I have made promises for a long time. It is my job to be sincere with my people, both when our operations are normal, and when we are in the middle of a catastrophe.  You have to be sincere and compassionate with our clients and customers.

 

Q:  What is your favorite Maxons story?

A:  I loved how I was hired, I was referred by a client to Damon.  I got to have 2 great steak dinners with Damon as part of being interviewed.  I don’t think my family and I would have had the life we had without being a part of Maxons and working with Damon for all these years!

  • Business Development in Northern NJ
  • Business Development in the Westchester County area of NY

Our Business Development team focuses on building trust with our clients, and is responsible for creating and maintaining successful business relationships.  The right candidate needs drive, determination, patience, and needs to be motivated by successful relationship building and activity metrics.  In this role you get to be a resource to clients and sell professionally delivered services.

The work requires professional communications skills and a strong sense of urgency and organizational skills for follow-up and managing of existing accounts.  Strong meeting and presentation skills are a must.  And the right person must demonstrate a record of reliability and a strong desire to learn & grow and work as part of a cohesive team.

The ideal sales candidate should possess a minimum of three years sales experience with the proven ability to promote new business, establish, and maintain relationships with clients.  Existing relationships in the restoration, insurance and/or real estate industries is a plus.

Some of the job duties are below:

  • Prospecting new referral sources.
  • Become a resource to current and prospective clients.
  • Bring on new clients by using the phone, email, marketing materials and appointments.
  • Maintaining contact with clients and inactive clients through the phone, email, marketing materials and appointments.
  • Using creative means to reach out to and build relationships with proactive clients.
  • Networking professionally with both industry and non-industry Associations and Network Groups.
  • Maintain contact database.

Long Island Ducks Outing

Last night our Long Island region held their second Annual Long Island Ducks Outing at the Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip.  Thank you to all of our clients and their families who attended and also a huge thank you to the Long Island Ducks for hosting us.  We could have not asked for a better night for a baseball game.
